•Ammeter:
•A galvanometer can be converted into an ammeter when low resistance is connected in parallal.
•an ammeter is used to measure a high electric current.
•The low resistance is called shunt.
•Ammater is connected with a circuit in series.
•Ammeter shows one way deflection.
•Ammeter gives readings in amperes.
•The electric current to be measured should be in the range of the ammeter.
•Positive terminal of the battery must be connected with the positive the positive terminal of the galvanometer.
•Voltmeter:
•A galvanometer can be connected in series with ahigh resistance and converted into a voltmeter.
•Voltmeter is used for measuring potential difference.
•The high resistance is called multiply.
•Voltmeter is connected in parallal with the crcuit.
•Voltmeter also shows one way deflection.
•Voltmeter gives readings in volts.
•The potential differece to be measured should be in the range of the voltmeter.
•When a voltmeter is connected in the circuit, positive terminal is connected to resistance of higher potential.
